The New Hotness

The new Universal Portfolio is up and running, but still is going through its growing pains. Yesterday we expanded its services listing yet again to now include “Newsletters” under the main “Graphic Design” capability heading. It’s just one overlooked service in a long, long list. In fact, it brings our long list to 120 services split up amongst the 13 capabilities and 5 markets. With all of the various types and scopes of projects we do all the time, it’s easy to see how one service could go unnoticed when missing from the vast list. Alas, it is found again and has been returned to its fellow service brethren.

One of our proofers actually stumbled across another bug yesterday too. Not anything obvious or outright displaying an error message either. It was a sneaky problem that needed a certain perfect storm of factors to occur. When this combination of factors would occur, the style sheet wouldn’t load. No glaring error messages or missing images, just loss of styles. So after finally being able to replicate the problem and determining the cause a new fix was programmed in. This fix may be the last because it’s working very well now and seems locked down. So take a look at our new universal portfolio. The portfolio itself could be an item in our portfolio. I’d give it tags of programming, graphic design, and copywriting.

Moving Forward

One of the glitches of working for a full-service, interactive and traditional marketing and advertising company that’s focused on innovation is it’s never ending. As a company, we are continuously growing — new divisions, websites, technologies , and on and on– and there’s never any shortage of requests for any number of medical or corporate marketing services. What this means as a writer, project coordinator, and general new business representative is that I have to keep on top of our evolution at all times and ensure that how the general public is perceiving us is up-to-date and accurate.

We happen to be at a point in our evolution where there are a lot of changes going on, and I’ve been generally overseeing a lot of these updates, along with the other writers and department heads. For one, we now have the Universal Portfolio, which is a pretty amazing feat, let me tell you. Nowhere else will get such a comprehensive picture of what DDA has to offer (and had to offer; it’s as much a historical record as it is an A to Z portfolio). Connected to all that is the fact that we’re the Original Universal Developer and, of course,  all of the Flash conversion/iPad and iPhone friendly development going on over at AppleSavvy.

But, much like those late-night infomercials, that’s not all.  Our comprehensive eLearning development services have really grown tremendously in the last couple of years, including the creation of virtual medical simulations, the first such simulations we’re aware of anywhere. Then there’s the projects we’re completing almost daily, from video production and animation to website design and development and search engine marketing (SEM), and making sure those are added to our existing portfolios, along with all the other routine maintenance things we need do to.

So you see, there’s a lot going on here, and if I was going to be honest, I’d admit some days it can be exhausting. But I keep on moving forward, because you can’t work for a company focused on innovation without always looking to the future.

The Happy Medium

The last couple of days have been gorgeous and for me, perfect weather. I’m definitely a not-too-hot, not-too-cold kind of girl. The annoying part is, this beautiful, perfect-for-me weather rarely lasts long, or at least that seems to have been the case the last few years. Extreme weather conditions seem to dominate, with either too much rain, like last year, blasting hot temps, or freezing-cold days. The happy medium is always hard to come by.

While DDA is always on the cutting-edge of new marketing and advertising technologies, you can classify us as middle of the road. I know that is such a strange paradox since we build comprehensive eLearning platforms with virtual medical simulations, intricate 3D animations, and highly interactive video production projects. But when it comes to price you’ll never have to worry about breaking the bank because DDA offers high-quality interactive and traditional, corporate and medical, advertising and marketing at moderate prices. Plus DDA has a completely transparent, client-focused development process, which gives the client plenty of opportunity for review and revision at each step of the way so they always get exactly what they wanted, with no surprises.

No matter what you’re looking for — website design and development, search engine marketing (SEM), custom programming, or even Flash conversion and iPad and iPhone friendly development — DDA will always be your source for a happy medium.
