Frosty

The first big frost at my house happened this morning. It was one of those full car frosts where I had to scrape every window. I wasn’t really expecting it as it didn’t seem too cold this morning. It did come off easily and melt fairly fast as I started driving. It feels a bit more claustrophobic in my car when the windows are all covered. Strangely as I drove on my long drive to work I didn’t really see anyone else with fresh morning frost on their windows. Maybe I was parked in an extra shadowy spot or something. After the frost melted away it felt like the usual commute of winter. Unfortunately school is back in session so there is the extra hassle of more traffic and slow school zones to drive through. That makes me have to leave a few minutes earlier to still get here at the same time.

Once at DDA the well oiled machine is churning away as usual. Everyone is hard at work on their specialized tasks. People are doing so many different things here because we offer so many different services. We do things like graphic design, 3D animation, flash animation, database programming, SEM, copywriting, video editing, and a whole lot more. Check out one of our numerous portfolios to get an idea what kind of work we are capable of. Then give us a call or visit and see what we can do for you.

Back to Full Weeks

The holiday season is totally over and we have just started back on our first holiday free week since. A full 40 hour week is back from here until the next national holiday. I don’t even know what the next holiday is where we get off work, but I know is a long way off. It’s at least 3 months or so. Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day will come and go, but those don’t garner the time off that other more prestigious holidays do. This part of the year is probably my least favorite. Along with no good holidays, we also have to deal with the stinging cold weather and possible snow and ice. That’s the case in the Northeast at least, in the more Southern states they might relish in the cooler temperatures as relief from the scorching summer heat.

Well while we are indoors here at DDA, we work hard on our computers filling out our 40 hours here to the fullest. The work varies from person to person as we handle so many different services. We do things like graphic design, 3D animation, database programming, flash animation, SEM, copywriting, video editing, and much more. Check out one of our many portfolios to get an idea about the quality of work we do. Then, give us a call or visit and see what we can do for you.

Electricity Issues

Yesterday was quite an interesting day. It was the day of a lot of ice and yesterday I talked about how I chiseled the ice from my car and how the groundhog predicted an earlier Spring for once. Well a little bit later that day all of that ice decided to wreak havoc on our power lines. We lost power a little bit after 10. We called the electricity supplier and they said it would be back on at 12:30, so the boss treated us to a nice diner breakfast/lunch in the downtime. Then as we were finishing another call was made to see if the power was back on yet and this time the estimate said it wouldn’t be back on until 5:16. Not only is that a weird time to estimate, but it would also ruin the whole work day. So we went back to get our stuff and I left. I made it about 15 minutes away when I got a call to say that the power was back on and I could come back. I was stunned. What kind of estimate was 5:16 when it’s already back on at 12:15? Apparently some people were about to leave still when it popped back on, so the alert went out to the people that had already departed. I made it back and apparently about 10 seconds before I stepped in the building the power went out again. What!? I was stunned. A call to get a time estimate now just said to call back later and we just waited. A little bit before 1, the power came back on again and this time for good. The second half of the work day was salvaged. It was quite a roller coaster day of electric events, but we got through it eventually.

So DDA can be stopped apparently by one thing, the loss of electricity. Luckily the whole country basically runs on electricity, so if we aren’t working then basically nobody else is probably working either. That doesn’t mean the work won’t get done though. It will just be delayed until the power comes back on. Once that electric juice is flowing again, we are back to our Flash animation, video editing, digital photography, custom web design, custom programming, copywriting, search engine marketing (SEM), and everything else we do in the marketing and digital world. So give us a call or visit today and see what we can do for you, but only when the electricity is on of course.
