Monday, Monday

Mondays have never been my favorite day of the week, but yesterday was exceptionally tough. After a long day of yard work, and a night of swimming on Sunday, we finally made it home and into bed by 10 p.m., only for my fiancee’s alarm clock to go off at 1:50 a.m. With this, I was up and ready to go, but knew that I had to go back to sleep or I would never make it through the 10-hour day that was ahead of me at DDA. This interruption in my beauty rest made my morning more difficult than normal and on top of it I have had a minor cold for the past week.

Needless to say, I made it to DDA on time and I kept on moving. First, it was checking a mass of email from the weekend, followed by a quick break for a Monday morning bagel, then website updates for a manufacturer of stainless steel. Then I had buildout to do for a leading jewelry e-commerce site, to prepare for a conference call that afternoon with one of DDA’s pay-per-click clients, and proposals on various print projects.

I feared the moment today when I will have a spare moment. I knew that when that spare moment came I would lose the groove that I havd gotten into and I would slump into my chair and dream of taking a nap. But the day went on and I will pushed through until 6 o’clock as I kept telling myself that I could take a nap once I get home, even though deep down inside I knew that is not true and that once I got home there is lawn to mow and flowers to be planted.
