The Content Oxymoron

Google loves Ffresh new content. Oh Wait, no I mean Google loves old authoritative content.

Which one is true? Both!

What this means is that Google weighs a site on how long it has existed. If a page has existed for over 1 year, then it most likely isn’t a keyword-stuffed, overnight spam page, but is more likely to contain useful, if not valuable, information for users.

On the other hand, if a site has not been updated in 1 year, it may seem stale and therefore not be as valuable a source of information as a site that is updated everyday.

So to get your website to rank well, a Google search engine optimization goal is that you need good quality long term content, and also nice fresh weekly or daily content (often creating a blog can provide this for you).
