Twinkie

If you type Twinkie into a search engine, you will see a results page with lots of highly relevant results including a Wikipedia page and the hostess Twinkie page. But if you didn’t know the trade name and were looking for a Twinkie you would type something like “Small Sponge Cake with Creamy Filling” you only get one result in 10 that is Twinkie related. This page is the Wegmans supermarket page. The reason this comes up is because they describe the product on that page.

Google and its counterparts are very clever and have very fancy word  relationship algorithms to help their indexing, but this is no match for you actually helping them out by putting as much detailed and related information about your product on your site. One trick is to imagine Google as a blind man who has never heard or seen your product before, then write your page as if trying to describe it to him. The moral of this story is unless your tradename is a recognizable as Twinkie, don’t think they will be searching for you with it.

As far as Hostess Cakes go, I think they have nothing to worry about because everyone loves a Twinkie. I know I do.
