I’d Rather Be At Work

During the record breaking snow storm on Wednesday, I went out several times to shovel the driveway hoping it would make my life easier when leaving for work the next day. I’m a bit sore now but it certainly made Thursday morning easier since I was able to get my car out without too much hassle. My neighborhood roads, however, were a different story. Since I live around the bend in a cul-de-sac, my road is among the last to be plowed in Newtown. I stood there, at my front door, looking at a completely dry car sitting in a perfectly cleared driveway… and the 10 inches of snow in the road. Since my car is only 8″ off the ground, I knew there was no way out.

To top it off, I was without power since about 7:30pm the night before. Waking up in a freezing house is no fun. Let’s just say I’d rather be at work! Come to think of it, I don’t personally know a whole lot of people (outside of DDA) who feel this way towards their job. I guess it must be the talented co-workers, state-of-the-art equipment, and our traditional “beer hour” at the end of the week!
