Rings and Things
The word around the studio is that another rotating jewelry project is in the works. This time it involves rings rather than charms, which means the efficient system I had previously developed to shoot over 850 charms will have to be reworked. There are many ways to display a ring, but very few of them allow the customer to see every single part of the ring unobstructed. I searched many jewelry store suppliers and finally found a display that was both beautiful and practical. The base is crystal and the ring is displayed by a plastic insert that fits around the inside. This creates the effect that the ring is completely suspended in mid air, thus allowing the customer to view every square nanometer of the ring. It is very important that the customer see as much detail as possible, as some of the rings cost more than a car. I will be setting up and shooting a couple examples today so keep your eyes peeled!
