Special FX In Cinema

The other day I found myself with some time to actually sit down, relax, and enjoy a good movie. This is certainly one thing I haven’t had a whole lot of time to do recently. I decided to watch Pan’s Labyrinth, a Spanish fantasy film written and directed by Mexican film-maker Guillermo del Toro. Normally, this wouldn’t be a movie I would choose to watch, being that I’m not a huge fan of fantasy films, nor am I into reading English sub-titles for two hours. It was recommended by a close friend of mine so I thought I’d give it a try.

Watching Pan’s Labyrinth was like being swept away into a fairy tale for adults, illustrating how different people can perceive the same reality in different ways. The beautiful cinematography and unique special effects blended reality and fantasy together in an amazing, spellbinding fable. Since I knew nothing about the movie before turning it on, I was blown away by the CG characters that Guillermo del Toro created. There were times where it was difficult to tell between computer generated characters and real animatronics, which were also used in the making of the film.

When the movie was over I couldn’t help but think – DDA does stuff like that! We offer a wide array of digital capabilities for your company to choose from including animation, 3D modeling, and virtual reality. Who knows? Maybe DDA will assist you in producing your next blockbuster hit!
