Back to Basics
Operation No More Cable phase one has taken place. We got an antennae and digital converter box this weekend to test it out and make sure we got stations before taking the big leap off of the much too expensive Comcast cable service. The test went well and we were able to get all the main channels we were expecting like ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and the CW. There were also some unexpected and very strange channels along with those that we will probably never watch. A few foreign channels and a few too many weather channels and we decided to alter the settings to just skip over those channels when we are surfing with the remote. We lived with a roof antennae and just the basic channels for most of our lives, so I know we will be able to do it again. I personally will dearly miss watching Comedy Central since it was my go-to channel and was home to many of my favorite shows like South Park, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, and Tosh.O. Hopefully, the selections from Netflix and the shows on the Internet will still be able to give me my fix from the shows I’ll miss. All I know is that it will be a great help getting rid of one giant bill every month.
While I love animated shows like South Park and Futurama and may now miss out on them, I know that DDA makes animations of its own that I could watch if I get too bored. There is Inside-out Man, the freakish suicidal superhero, made with 3D animation. There is the DDA DNA, a flash animation that speaks of the mascot ZOZ’s origin. There is also the favorite DDA in 60 Seconds commercial that was created using graphic design and video editing effects.
