Fajitas

I went to my girlfriend’s sister’s birthday party with their family this weekend and got to sample the delicious dinner. The chosen meal was chicken fajitas. Now I’ve had chicken fajitas at my house and those are delicious, but these were a different kind of delicious. My family’s tastes always aim to keep things spicy, so our chicken fajitas would leave you gulping down the beverages to keep your mouth cool. Our toppings usually consist of lettuce, tomato, hot peppers, cheese, salsa, and sour cream. These new fajitas were different and were a combination of the chicken, re-fried beans, cheese, avocado, cooked green and red peppers, and some seasoned rice. While this new version wasn’t spicy, it was still scrumptious and probably more healthy too. It was then followed up with an amazing cheesecake. It was topped with some fresh lemony layer of goodness that added that something extra. Yummy yummy for my tummy. So while people’s recipes and styles on the same dish may vary, they all have their own benefits. Maybe in the future, I’ll end up making my own fajita recipe that combines my favorite aspects of all the ones I’ve tried over the years. Either that or I’ll just take a trip to Chipotle or Qdoba. Those are amazingly yummy too. Variety is the spice of life, even if it’s a variety on the same food.
