The Oscars took place this past Sunday and I for one wasn’t thrilled with the winner for best picture. I was thrilled with the comedic relief of Ben Stiller though, as well as the hosting job done by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. If you’ve read these blogs in the past, then you know that I’ve been a big supporter of “Avatar.” So I was a little disappointed that the movie didn’t take home the prize and the movie “The Hurt Locker” won instead. I saw this movie as well and didn’t think it was that great. It did give a good taste of how it feels to defuse bombs in the war, but I didn’t get much else out of it. I’ll accept the director winning the best director award, but I don’t think it was the best film of the year.
I was also disappointed that a great movie like “The Dark Knight” wasn’t even nominated last year. I think it was hampered by its comic book superhero genre, but it still deserved some sort of nod. Oh well, it’s not the end of the world for either of these movies or their staff. They both raked in the cash at the box office where there is a different measure of success and the general public can make its interest felt. Both “Avatar” and “The Dark Knight” are movies that I saw twice in theaters, which doesn’t happen often for me. So maybe I’m biased on my liking for these. Majority rules though, so congratulations to “Slumdog Millionaire” and “The Hurt Locker” for winning out over my favorites.
DDA makes videos of its own, but no feature length films yet. We do have shorts though. I think our DDA in 60 Seconds commercial and Inside-out man video qualify for that category. Other than those items, we do client video work all the time. Whether it is corporate video, video editing, 3D animation, or streaming video, we can do any of it. We can also design any needed graphics or write the scripts for your videos. Everything can be done in-house at our video studio.
