One good thing about riding a bicycle as opposed to running is that I can ride on a full stomach and not suffer the same side effects. It’s so late when I get home that dinner is always waiting for me. When I run, I have to do it while everyone else is eating and I end up eating alone when I am done. If I eat and then run, I will inevitably get a painful side stitch and will possibly throw up. There’s not enough time before bed to digest before running so the only way to do it is to eat after. Cycling on the other hand lets me sit in place while churning my legs so I can avoid the up and down pounding that ends up causing the side stitches.
So yesterday for the first time ever, I was able to eat dinner with everyone and still get my workout in. There’s nothing like following up a hefty serving of burritos and conversation with a nice bike ride. Of course getting home so late this time of year makes it dark outside when I get home, so any training I do after work for the next lot of months will need to be done indoors on a treadmill or bike trainer for safety reasons. It always feels a bit more monotonous indoors since you’re never actually moving and don’t get that breeze of fresh air on your face, but it will have to do.
At DDA, we do all of our work indoors. From the inside of 1265 Industrial Hwy, we all sit at our desks in our climate controlled environment. It’s never rainy inside and always seems to end up with temperatures in the mid 70′s by days end after you get past that morning chill. Upstairs and downstairs you will find people working on things like copywriting, 3D animation, video editing, advanced programming, graphic design, and other things. So give us a call or visit and see what we can do for you. Keep us busy.
