Bitten by the Bug

I remember as a little girl being asked the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” From year-to-year my desired vocations changed. At times I wanted to be a pianist, other years a nurse, and for a while there I wanted to become a famous artist. However, I always seemed to return to the notion of writer.

Looking back, I’m not sure exactly where my desire stemmed from. Perhaps it was in the third grade where I developed my love of reading, or maybe it came from watching the joy my Mom got from reading her seemingly endless supply of books, or possibly it was the affect Hallmark cards had on my typically stern Grandfather. Whatever the source, I was bitten and writer I’ve become.

At DDA, a full-service advertising agency, the role of copywriter is a varied one. From day- to-day the assignments change. Monday I could be writing a script for a corporate or medical video, Tuesday pages for a search engine optimized website, and Wednesday a brochure piece. Redundancy never sets in here at DDA. The team of creative copywriters, admin and database programmers, graphic designers, and video specialists are constantly creating for various projects and clients.

Jealous? You should be. Not many can say they do what they love.
