Again, With The Details
Details. Post 2.
Interestingly enough, I struck a nerve with a friend by discussing details in yesterday’s post. So I thought I would expand on the concept more.
My friend is a talented jewelry designer, and one of the most detailed people I know. If you go to her workshop, you will see endless bins, big and small with beads, and crystals, and gem stones and silver clasps, and wires and colorful rolls of ribbons very neatly tagged and organized. Plus she keeps track of all the customers she has acquired over twenty plus years in the business. And she does this with no help. Can you imagine the chaos if she did not believe in details?
I have a brother who is a professional chef and his stock in trade are his very expensive knives. He carries them back and forth to work in a special leather case, and is very careful to make sure they are always scarily sharp. No one in the kitchen he oversees would dare touch them, but that’s the culture in a professional kitchen, the chef is king. On the other, hand we all know cooks who just throw their knives in a kitchen drawer and can’t even remember the last time they were sharpened.
So are details important when a company is looking for an advertising and marketing agency to entrust their projects to? Absolutely. Some crucial questions. Does someone oversee the project from beginning to end? How much involvement will the new client have as the project progresses? Will the agency give a clear and accurate accounting of how time is used? Is the agency responsive to phone calls and emails from the client? Can the agency deliver on time and on budget?
To all the above questions, DDA’s answer is a resounding YES. Plus we surprise our clients with how many other details we take care of that they never even thought about before they started working with us. Check us out if you need a new website or a medical video presentation. You will be glad you did.
