Standing Out from the Crowd
This weekend I attended a wedding. It was the most fun ceremony I’ve ever been witness to. The bridesmaids did impromptu spins and little dances walking down the aisle and the bride herself started her entrance off by throwing her arm in the air and shouting “Woo.” Perhaps some would be offended by the nontraditional format but to me the ceremony truly embodied the personalities of the couple, something I feel is often not reflected in formal, traditional weddings. This was unique and refreshing.
Standing out among others when you’re doing something that’s been done a million times before, can be difficult. Sometimes it can seem impossible. But like with anything else, the thing that makes success in the end is the person. Not so much their intelligence or talent, but really their ingenuity and drive, their motivation to make it happen.
At DDA, we see all kinds of business ideas and some are truly unique, tapping into niche markets. Other ideas are still very viable but concentrated on fields that are already fairly saturated. Many of these situations include a new take on an old procedure or a new method that will revolutionize that industry.
Just like some of our clients, we also work in a field that’s over saturated. In fact, we work in several different over-saturated fields. On one end we’re competing with thousands of post-launch search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) firms, on the other we are battling it out with other website design and development vendors. Then there’s the competition from the video production companies, animation studios, and custom programming outfits. But at DDA we don’t acknowledge the competition in any of these fields. We don’t know who are our biggest competitors are in each field and we certainly don’t keep track of them. Instead, we focus on innovation and building truly unique, ever-evolving, highly interactive marketing and advertising services.
It’s that drive and ingenuity that has kept us ahead of the pack and continuing to lead the industry.
