This is the world of the virtual trade show, an experience DDA can bring to life for almost any product or industry. In 2008, DDA designed and developed a flash virtual trade show booth for Dorman Products, one of the world’s leading aftermarket automobile parts manufacturers. The result is an innovative and interactive tool that is redefining the traditional trade show experience and product presentation as a whole.
Visitors to the site can intuitively navigate the virtual booth, click on panels and posters for a larger view, and examine individual products up close and personal. By adding additional information like sell sheets, product information sheets, videos, and audio, the experience is now incredibly more comprehensive, organized, and more controllable by the user than any real-life booth could ever be.
By implementing tracking mechanisms, the client can monitor all traffic coming to the website, as well as the information each user is viewing, and keep tabs on the click-through rate of more than 50 products. The booth is also easily updatable by Dorman products so more panels and images can be added over time and the supporting materials can be easily edited and revised.
With so many in-house capabilities from graphic design to flash development and custom programming, DDA makes it simple to take any presentation to the next level, both virtually and literally. |

DDA’s own foray into online social networking once again sparked a wave of innovation, with our new website You Bet My Life (YBML), launched in late 2008, conceptualized, designed, programmed, and developed all in-house. This social networking site taps into the popularity of online betting, mixing the wagering experience with a virtual community that connects people from all over the world. Rollover for MORE At YBML, members can place and bet on wagers of their own invention – celebrity and event predictions, polls and surveys, and personal stories. The wagers can be anything from “Will I stop smoking in 2009” to “Will President Barack Obama’s approval ratings go down after the first six months in office.” Each member has their own profile, can upload their images, message and make friends with fellow members, and bet with YBML’s own currency, Bettys. No real money is accepted or wagered.
Online social networking is becoming more and more prominent and its uses and benefits are going well beyond a place to meet and catch up with friends. As with everything else we do, DDA doesn’t just keep up with and mirror current trends, we create our own.
