Busy, Busy in the Video Department + This Week’s Best Commercial

That’s right, we’ve got lots going on here, reason for the long stretch of time since my last blog entry. We have lots of interesting video and animation projects happening at the moment including synched video and slide presentations, 3D anatomical and medical procedure animations, medical simulations and website integrated spokesperson videos. There’s never a dull moment at DDA.

Previously, I’ve listed my commercials of the week and while watching a new episode of The Big Bang Theory with my beautiful wife (that’s right, I’m married now!), that commercial made itself known. It was a brilliant mix of black and white imagery with an old recording of a speaker, probably someone very famous but from an age many years before my time. Although simple, it was also whimsical, patriotic and emotionally stirring.

Looking at the feedback, it seems there is mixed emotions about the commercial. Although I’m not too familiar with the company and its values or status in the market but it seems to me as a reflection on the company’s history and being in America, pure and simple. I wonder what you might think of it?

PS - Just noticed the speaker was the poet Walt Whitman

Magical Mystery Tour

Given the custom and technical nature of some of the projects we work on at our interactive marketing and advertising agency, it is to be assumed that you could find yourself in a bit of a quandary at one point or another. Today was one of those days. A programming issue was brought to my attention and my immediate reaction was to go into “how did this come to be?” mode. We checked into the issue to determine the scope, validated that it was in fact done correctly the first time around, and ultimately found that it was the result of something that could hardly have been helped without this new-found knowledge. Instead of taking hours to fix what was originally done correctly, it took just a matter of minutes to tweak the ColdFusion code and produce the results that were inherent all along. Now as this magical mystery tour ends, it’s on to another task at hand.

Old-Fashioned Follow Up

I love Spring and Summer when at 5:30 am the world is bathed in soft light and the birds outside your window are extra chatty. Now as Septmeber dwindles and we wake up in the dark and leave work in the dark, I start counting the days to Valentine’s Day which is about the time the light comes back.

Of course light or dark does not affect what we do at DDA. In fact, we are starting to gather steam and several projects that were shelved or delayed are all back on line creating really busy departments. But our Business Development team has not slowed down. On the contrary, many a Friday finds one of them setting up meetings or conference calls with new prospects. Our usual 4 day 40 hour week has also changed because of inquiries on Fridays. Usually, we just take messages. Now, DDA is open from 9am to 4pm every Friday.

See, when it comes to client relationships, we believe in prompt and seamless service. Come to DDA if you are looking for truly custom work, responsive, intelligent staff to interact with, outstanding SEO work and old-fashioned follow up in this digital era.
