VMS eLearning Platforms

As technology gets more complex and sophisticated it behooves companies like DDA to recognize the need to simplify the learning of new technologies for different industries. Take medical equipment. What method should a company employ when explaining very intricate processes to the doctors, nurses and techs who will use these machines on real human beings?

Enter Virtual Medical Simulations. As we speak, our different teams, videographers, graphic designers, flash programmers are hard at work making very realistic virtual demonstrations to help the medical population observe, practice and learn to a degree of real competency before they try out anything on a patient.

How cool is that? Yes, Virtual Medical Simulations created our way are new and stimulating and we are proud to be in the forefront of this wave.

All in a Day’s Work

I’ve got a few things lined up today for a number of clients. Thanks to the broad range of clients we serve and the number of services we provide, variety and originality is something that drives the work at DDA. To begin the day, I write this blog to provide insight into the essence of being part of the DDA team and to expand the keyword rich content of our website. Some updates need to be made to a consumer and wholesale product CD-ROM which also links to the client’s shopping cart. The first version of the CD-ROM was completed early last year so this year’s release will include new items and new interactive video product demos. A virtual medical simulation introduction video, complete with a spokesperson composited into a custom designed virtual environment needs to be further refined, editing the audio for levels normalization and adding images provided by the client. The final video is to be integrated into the medical eLearning platform custom made by DDA. Features for the introduction video alone include subtitling and a segmented and interactive timeline scrub bar allowing users to skip to a particular topic of interest. In addition to these items, I will be completing other duties as the director of the video department managing a team of 3D animators, videographers, and flash programmers, researching new equipment to expand our capabilities and exploring new business opportunities with project kick-offs and working with the new business team on proposals. With these project assignments, roles to play, hats to wear, and always keeping alert for something unexpected to jump into the mix, the days and weeks always end up flying by!

Standardized Advertising

The other day, I noticed an email sent to one of our DDA emails that struck me as a bit odd. The email said this person was “looking into advertising” and wanted to know the costs that would incur with that. I couldn’t help but think to myself, what is just advertising? Is there some standardized package that companies sell as “advertising”? Of course, this person is looking for some way of advertising their business or product, but he/she seems to be under the assumption that there is an all-inclusive advertising package. There’s not, and if any company tells you otherwise, they are lying.

In the 15 years or so that DDA has been in business, we’ve done everything from print design to video production to complex eLearning portals and virtual medical simulations. While I have not been with DDA that long, I do know one thing, advertising is not some standard that can applied to any marketing needs. A brochure may not be your best option. A website may not do the job you want. Video may not be the right route for you. DDA prides itself on building fully custom marketing and advertising pieces that cater directly to your business, product, or service. A big part of our job is to analyze your needs and figure out the best way to promote you - whether that be through complex communications tools or just timely direct mail pieces and trade show ads. We want to make sure you are presented in the best, most effective way possible. So we won’t sell you any “package,” we’ll just provide the necessary marketing needs to return the results you need.
