DDA in the Driver’s Seat

Many people are visual learners.  If I watch someone do something, I can learn it faster than just by reading or listening about how its done.  Better yet, if I can practice using a hands-on technique I might become a pro in no time!  Who has ever learned to drive a car just by reading about it?  Why not sit in the seat, feel the pedals under your feet, grab on to the steering wheel (at 10 and 2), and start to drive.

If you want to take it one step further, turn that hands-on technique into a virtual learning environment, and you get all the learning without the worry.  I like to think I learned how to drive from the driving games at the arcade.  The good ones had the one-seater with the screen in front, two pedals, steering wheel and gear shifter.  I always chose to play in automatic, but I still had the push the foot pedal down to accelerate, turn the wheel around the curves, and sometimes the seat would shift and vibrate if I hit anything along the way.  Of course, things are a little different once I get out on the real road, but the virtual experience from the games makes it real enough to learn the basics steer, brake, accelerate.

DDA understands how important virtual learning environments can be, and so we specialize in creating them for our clients.  Recently, Philips Healthcare came to DDA Medical looking for a way to increase retention, interest and effectiveness of their training session for various medical procedures.  So, DDA Medical designed and developed a virtual medical simulation for physicians to use in the comfort of their own home or office.  This simulation is comprised of a combination of video, animation, audio narration, still photography and 3D models, which leads the user step-by-step through the procedures before they’re given the opportunity to try it themselves.

With this virtual medical simulation, DDA Medical puts physicians in the driver seat all while decreasing training costs for Philips and raising the level of understanding for the trainees.  The results are positive for all involved, especially the patients who receive the highest in quality of care.

Finding the Right Talent

It can be said that creative people are unconventional and maybe downright strange. Working in an advertising agency like Dynamic Digital Advertising (DDA), one sees a broad spectrum of highly creative individuals from programmers who write complex code that improves online efficiency and usability to copywriters who use words skillfully to improve content clarity and style. Each of us possess an important talent or capability that when combined, create a powerful machine that produces marketing and training materials that embody what was only previously limited to the imagination. (I suppose you could equate the staff at DDA to the Planeteers from the TV show Captain Planet, minus the theme song!)

Yes, our staff is comprised of creative people who think WAY outside the box, but so are the actors, actresses, and voice over artists in our Actors’ Network. Click Gallery One and Gallery Two to view. Overall, the Network is full of professionals who are directors of improvisation groups; acting coaches and teachers; actors on TV shows, in movies and musicals; doctors; business owners, ex-FBI agents, and so on. Acting is, in and of itself, creative and sometimes an actor can be a little quirky. In fact, a few weeks ago, an actor was cast for an important interactive website we are in the process of developing that includes embedded video synchronized with supporting elements. On screen the actor was on mark; off screen the actor adamantly requested nothing but reverse osmosis water with his lunch, which consisted of a delicate balance of iodine rich foods that he claims can cure various diseases. To each their own I say.

Working with these actors on various projects like virtual learning environments and medical simulations, one gets a good handle on the quirks that are associated with each. We help our clients choose the right talent for their projects, factoring everything from age and ethnicity to dialect and wardrobe so that they appeal to the demographic profile of the target audience. We do all of this so you don’t have to, but more importantly so that the spokesperson in your marketing materials represents your company in the best light.

If you’re looking for the right creative talent for your next project, you’ll find it at DDA.

Walk-ins Welcome

While driving the other day, I noticed a new tattoo shop with a BIG sign out front that said WALK-INs WELCOME. I immediately recalled my last two tattoos - one was done in PA and the other in Mexico - and both required an appointment. I have been thinking about a third tattoo for a long time and seeing that Walk-in sign almost swayed me to get it done right then and there… but life beckoned and I had somewhere to be at a certain time and I was already late. It made me think that sometimes life becomes too regimented, too scheduled and the fun, the spontaneous, or the freedom to explore gets squashed. You have to make an appointment or reservation for so many things in life, from getting your hair colored to getting a good table at your favorite restaurant.

The corporate and medical worlds are no different. Meetings and consultations get booked back-to-back and can’t run over on time or something else will be compromised. I suppose a BIG WALK-INs WELCOME sign outside of a doctor’s office or advertising agency would be odd, but think of the freedom that would give to interested patients or clients, especially in high foot traffic areas. At any time they felt inclined, they could walk through the front door and be serviced.

There is no Walk-in sign at DDA, but our websites certainly compensate. A full listing of more than 100 advertising and marketing services can be found on zeroonezero.com. You can enter the site at any time - day or night - and find out if we have the service that fits your need. From virtual learning environments and mobile applications to brochure designs and corporate videos, I can almost guarantee that we have the in-house capability to meet and exceed your need, on time and on budget. We can market your company, practice, product, or service on virtually any platform and help you achive the ROI you depend on. Plus, when you enter our site, you can even have a virtual cup of Coffee with DDA, without all the extra calories or caffeine. **Come to think of it, maybe we should have a LOG-INs WELCOME ANYTIME sign on the website. :) **
