More than meets the eye

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

As I work in this beautiful site about jewelry, I am thoroughly entertained. I am not really a big fan of standard jewelry. Unlike most women, diamonds don’t do much for me. What really interests me is more along the lines of unique, maybe a little unusual without being tacky, like the charms on Chains-and-Charms.com and Pandora Jewelry. And as all jewelry does, it should have a meaning or memory. On every page of the charms section of the Chains-and-Charms site, there is an abundance of facts, some that i never knew! So many of these spark my memories and I am so fascinated by these little tidbits of information that I can’t wait to work on the next page so that I can read more. And each page is written with a bit of humor that makes me smile. I have to give so much credit to our copywriters. Not only do they manage to handle project coordinator duties, but they also consistently  produce creative copy that is entertaining and informative. And most don’t realize that all this is done with keywords designed into the content. These little invisible workers work to help Google help you find what you need. They handle every type of copywriting service, from advertising copywriting, web copywriting, direct mail copywriting,  and most important, SEO copywriting.  So, enjoy reading the fun bits of information on any website, but remember, there’s more than meets the eye here, and you just might learn something new.

Happy Ending

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

The next few days will be spent totally immersed in a “rearrangement” of a current site. It seems that it may have been a bit intimidating to an average user. It was full of amazing advanced programming tricks, menus and buttons. And it had been fine-tuned down to the smallest detail, but, as it turned out, some people may have lost their way with so many options. So, in true DDA style, we are adjusting things as needed. Our goal is always to accommodate the client with the best possible outcome. Without losing the integrity of the beautiful web design or altering the video capture, the layout and custom programming have been adjusted to offer a more friendly usability. After all, you have to find your way through to reach a happy ending.

Seeds of Growth

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Spring is full of new growth and fresh beginnings. I see the little baby goslings following their parents, and fat bunnies ready to give birth. The trees are profusely spreading, sending their seeds into the wind. Trees are so efficient at this, that we find the seeds in every corner of every space - even where you least expect it. And although not all end up in a place that may be conducive to growth (like in the vacuum), so many more will be able to continue the pattern of life. You just have to give them something to grow on and a little TLC. Our websites and advertising services are much the same. When properly planted and maintained, they will grow into a very large, thriving and profitable endeavor. In order to grow a successful campaign, we will start with a beautiful graphic design that can be for web or print design. Then, we can add all types of digital animation, flash animation or any number of video production, photography services and programming services. But the magic is in the maintenance to make it grow. Our Search Engine Optimization, SEO copywriting and Search Engine Marketing Services are the food for growing big in Google. Everybody needs a little TLC.

Organized or Disorganized?

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Organization.  It’s an imposing word. One that I am constantly battling with. I was shopping at a well known housewares store this weekend, and found myself once again staring at the various organizers. I wanted them all. I am slightly obsessed with organizers (as my husband would put it). I have them in every room of the house- cabinets with a million shelves, shelves with a million drawers, drawers with a million cubbies, and so on. Although, sometimes it takes me a while to remember which cubbie inside which drawer inside which cabinet to look! On Mother’s Day, my mom called me disorganized, because I always do 5 things at once. So I thought: “Don’t  you have to be very organized in order to be able to do 5 things at once?” I’ll have to work on it…..Well, one thing that I do know is that my organization is nothing compared to that of the Project Coordinators  here at DDA. As a Pioneer advertising agency, each coordinator is handling more clients on a daily basis than I have fingers and toes. And each one is handled with professionalism and finesse, catering each of our advertising services to fit the clients individual specifications. Another detail that our coordinators can provide for each client is creative copywriting. This cleverly written information always informs and entertains the reader. We offer a full range of copywriting services, from SEO copywriting to Direct Mail copywriting to online copywriting. I think I have a lot to learn  from our Project Coordinators, and I will enjoy every minute.

A Star in our midst?

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Today is a rainy Spring day that makes you feel kind of blah. So, I am trying to think of something happy. One thing that always makes me smile is our mascot Indie. His blog yesterday made me laugh! He is always so happy and well mannered. He is  always a bright spot in any work day. DDA will again be working with some fun party type products for print design. This time it will be for your pets, and that will make it all that much more fun! Our Graphic Designers will make the most out of our product photography to create a fun and colorful new print ad design that will make some people want to borrow a pet just so they can enjoy the fun! Maybe we can have Indie model right here in our own photography studio! Pretty soon, he’ll be charging for autographs…..

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Yesterday, a Robin flew into the front window of our building. With a very large thud, he knocked himself out cold and was passed out near a bush at the front door. I giggled a little when I saw him as he reminded me of some parties from my youth, but then remembered the headache that also came with it and I felt sorry for him. I looked at the beauty of that little creature as he slowly started to move and look around. The feathers were fine and detailed, with a beautiful red breast. Even his eyes were dark and shiny like little buttons. It’s not often that we can have the opportunity to see such detail up close to appreciate its beauty. Not all might appreciate the same things that I do. They might be too busy or just be scared of this wild animal so close to them- and not want to look, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. At DDA, our graphic designers and  animation artists and videographers incorporate the most beautiful details into every graphic and web design. And the intricate details don’t stop at just aesthetic pleasure, the intricate code programming is a work of art unto itself as it works behind the scenes along with search engine optimization to enhance every website. In our busy lives, stop a moment and take a closer look to appreciate the beauty of the details in life.

Clear and simple- but yet complicated

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Sometimes things appear so clear and simple- but underneath it all it is so very complicated. Right now, I am working to help make a beautiful website easier to use. The design is clean and elegant and fresh, but  some people can get a little lost. I know for a fact how much detail and effort is going on behind the scenes so that we can make everything perfect. Our designers, programmers, copywriters and web developers are always working together to make everything just right. Our Website Design Company will tweak every last detail until all of the advanced programming, web design, photography, and video work together to make this site exciting, fun, and easy to use. Just another normal day here at DDA.

Life in 2008

Monday, May 5th, 2008

A friend sent me the funniest e-mail. It was about living in 2008 and alike the very best humor often is, it was so very funny because of how true it was.  And we all need to remember to laugh at ourselves no matter how true the facts are. It reminded us of how dependent we are on modern technology. Some of the funniest reminders are, ”You accidentally enter your password on the microwave,” ” You e-mail the person who sits at the desk next to you”  and “Every commercial on TV has a website at the bottom of the screen.” In a personal experience, I recently put in a new stove and my brother said that there were so many buttons that he wanted to hook it up to the Internet so I could cook and work at the same time. I thought that was too funny at the time, until I saw a show about the newest appliances being designed. They actually allowed your computer at work to talk to your oven at home. Now, you could start dinner while you were still at work and it would be ready by the time you came home.

It’s unbelievable how modern technology and computer programming can make our lives even more convenient than they already are.  Those websites that are listed at the bottom of every commercial are full of every convenience. It may be the photography or animation that catches your eye, but it’s the custom programming that makes it all happen. Advanced programming is the norm here at DDA, as is custom animation, professional photography services and custom web design. Things that happen everyday here, make lives easier and more convenient for so many.

Catch-up day

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

I need a catch-up day. I have been a little busy lately with a few extra things that have disrupted my normal schedule, and I find myself way behind in taking care of things. I have managed to miss at least 3 birthdays, haven’t even considered  Mothers’ Day (and I have 2 of those) and forgot to mail the cable bill! The last item being the biggest impact on my household, and shopping on the internet also will be be my saving grace for fixing the first 4 mistakes!

One of my favorite gifts that can be a fit for almost anyone-especially Moms-is jewelry.  One of my favorite places to shop is a website called Chains and Charms and Pandora Jewelry.  It always has something that fits my budget. And it’s right at the top of the Google list (thanks to our Search Engine Marketing Specialists). It’s no coincidence that this is a DDA site. The beauty of the graphic design and product photography, the 360º spin videos, not to mention the interactive animation that allows you to make your own bracelet is amazing! I could play here for days!   But not on my time schedule. Good thing that the custom programming also allows  me to easily choose exactly what I need, so I can get in and out fast. It has all the things that I need to help me catch up. Now I just need to drop off that bill…

Fighting off a few germs

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

It’s that time of year when everyone seems to be suffering from allergies or catching some kind of cold or virus. Right now there are a few of us here that are fighting off a few germs. And I myself will be keeping a few doctors busy this week.  I have found that it is amazing how much medical information is available on the web today. It used to be so hard to find out information if you were sick and had questions- and there’s always a million questions. Now you can find so much info that it can make your head spin! Understanding it may be a different hurdle.DDA has a large and varied collection of medical sites that we design and maintain.  Each one is different. There’s information from Doctor listings, to images and technical information on specific types of cancerous cells. The medical copywriting and medical videos are helpful and informative. There are medical animations and medical illustrations that help you to understand medical or surgical procedures. I find it very comforting to know that so much information is available right at my fingertips. And as an informed patient, I can be prepared to ask my doctors the right questions and to try to understand the answers.
