Gotta Love Variety

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. Although I enjoy writing search engine optimized copy, doing nothing but this 10 hours a day, 4 times a week can get monotonous. But luckily, the tasks of a creative and online copywriter are varied here at DDA. Our time is divided by Project Coordination duties, new business development, and writing. Plus, as we are a full-service advertising agency that specializes in all things digital, our writing responsibilities vary greatly. We do it all, from custom script development to creative brochure writing, the monotony never sets in here at DDA.

Next week for instance, I’ll be working on a training video script, optimized pages of content for DDA Corporate and Medical Training and an acrylics coating company, as well as proposal development and project coordination responsibilities. With so much variety, bored is never an adjective to describe one’s mood while at work.

Establishing Priorities

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

With DDA’s four, 10-hour day (Monday-Thursday) work schedule, today is our “Friday.” As I sit here drinking my usual morning tea and writing my blog, I’m thinking about all the projects that I will work on today as well as all the options that are available for this weekend’s fun. At our advertising company, I will need to work on search engine optimized content for a medical website design we are developing and for a new division of DDA called DDA Corporate and Medical Training. I’ll also need to proof different materials before they go to the client for review and oversee the development of about 17 different projects that I’m responsible for coordinating at the moment. At home, I plan to celebrate my mom’s birthday this weekend, go to a dinner party with friends, clean my house, do laundry, take my dog to the park, go shopping for a few household items that we are in tire need of, and take a little time to relax.

With my long work and home “to do” lists, I’ll need to prioritize myself. Today, within 10 hours, although I’ll strive to get everything accomplished, I’ll need to figure out what it most important to address so I can leave for the weekend knowing that nothing has slipped through the cracks or has been stalled or delayed. This weekend, although I’ll have high hopes to utilize every possible moment for fun, I’ll need to make sure that the chores that help our house run smoothly are handled (by myself and my husband) so we don’t have extra work around the house next week. Establishing priorities is important in and out of the workplace. But, enough for now… I’ve got much to do :)

Training Done Right

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

It is no secret that the success of any business depends on the knowledge and proficiency of its employees.  With that said, the value of effective corporate and medical training should not be overlooked. How well your employees deal with clientele and operate is directly reliant upon their comprehension and confidence at the tasks at hand. That is why DDA is setting out to expand its corporate and medical training division.

We have the tools to create an array of training methods and techniques that not only improve employee comprehension, but are also enjoyable for the user. Complex processes can be illustrated with training videos, e-learning programs, or continuing medical education websites. With a staff consisting of degreed creative and technical copywriters, video technicians, admin and database programmers, designers, and more, our abilities are truly limitless.

Balancing the Load

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

How much can one man or woman carry?  Some of us may be well versed in taking on heavy loads without buckling under the immense weight, but others may crumble. At DDA we are expected to continuously support a plethora of tasks, and if not managed correctly, you may find yourself struggling to support the load.

As a full-service advertising agency that specializes in all things digital, our tasks are varied. Graphic design, website development, custom admin and database programming, corporate and medical video creation, and training programs are carried out seamlessly under one roof.  One person may be working on several projects at once, each with their own importance and designated deadlines. Consequently the pressure at times can be great and if you are not well versed in managing your time, the pressure can become overwhelming.

This ability to multitask is especially vital for me as a Project Coordinator. I am constantly striving to improve my efficiency and continually look to my coworkers for ways in which I can improve. When you are the liaison between a slew of clients and DDA staff, and you must also allocate time for your own projects, whether they are optimized content for a new website or creative copywriting for a brochure, the work load can be heavy. Each Project Coordinator has their own methods of managing tasks. Some desks are covered in an array of Post-It notes and some allocate designated times for a variety of tasks per day. Whatever the means, managing your time is crucial, or else you will quickly find yourself buckling under the weight.

Training is Essential

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

The staff here at DDA is currently working to create a new branch called DDA Corporate and Medical Training. While DDA has been doing training packages, including training videos, continuing medical education websites, and more, for years, we have realized that proper training packages are an essential tool for any business. Properly training employees in an effective way significantly improves the efficiency of a company or use of a specialized product. Without proper training, a company is doomed to fail.

But with DDA, we make it easy to train employees through a variety of media and engage each trainee to ensure the information is retained and successfully implemented. No longer will you have to waste the time and money of HR personnel to create and implement training procedures. DDA Corporate and Medical training will help keep your costs low and the knowledge of your employees high.

Corporate and Medical Training from DDA

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Dynamic Digital Advertising has provided corporate and medical training materials to businesses for a long time, but only recently have we begun to market those services as a distinct from our other offerings. Like DDA Video and DDA Medical, divisions of DDA Corporate, DDA Corporate and Medical Training is simply a specialized set of services within the whole. We still do everything in-house, and we market it separately more to advertise our abilities to clients who might not be aware of our range, and to make it easier for prospective clients to find affordable, impressive, and technologically cutting edge training tools.

Currently, the writers are working on developing content pages for DDA Corporate and Medical Training (in our time not spent writing content for clients and coordinating projects). In writing about previous training tools we created, I am learning about what we have done, and what we can do. It goes so far beyond advertising. Every day I am learning how far we take the concept of a “full service” advertising agency–farther than I ever thought to go. I guess that’s why DDA has continued to grow, in times of economic growth or stagnation: because we never stop thinking of ways to serve our clients, and to help them serve their clientèle, employees and peers.

How old are you?

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Everywhere I went with my boys this weekend, complete strangers would ask, “How old are you?” My 3-year-old proudly put up his three fingers and the questioner was pleased with his answer, and when I was asked how old my almost 6-month-old was, I would answer and shock would come across their face since he is quite big for his age. But, no one asked me how old I was, and, in fact, I haven’t been asked how old I am from a complete stranger in quite some time.

There seems to be a time period between the teenage years and way into your eighties when the question of, ”How old are you?” is taboo. My husband’s grandmother is 91 and she is asked quite often “How old are you?”… she proudly answers 91.  Dynamic Digital Advertising (DDA) was founded in 1994, so that would make us 14 years old. We have been growing and expanding every year with the complete package of advertising services. I have been with DDA almost 6 years now and as Lead Designer, I have been a part of many web design, print design, and video production projects that showcase all of our team’s talents.

We are especially excited about the upcoming launch of DDA Carnival that showcases our portfolio projects in an exciting, interactive carnival-like setting and we are currently writing and designing for our newest division, DDA CMT (Corporate and Medical Training).  So, as DDA enters the pre-teen years and our capabilities are expanded by our full spectrum of talents and degreed designers, be sure to spend some time at our website (www.ddacorp.com) to learn all about our 14 years of experience.

Pushing the Boundries

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Building complex websites that are at once user friendly and innovative can be a challenging task. Companies want a website that present thier products and services in a unique way that demands the attentions’ of users and catapults their business above the competitions’. I have found through my experience as a Project Coordinator, the DDA team is well versed in achieving just this—a  new and exciting way to build not only websites, but corporate and medical videos, brochures, Corporate and Medical Training programs, and more.

DDA seems to excel at pushing the boundaries of the norm to achieve new and groundbreaking methodologies of video production, database programming, and graphic design. Just look at our website as an example. Several technologies are combined to make an experience like no other. Custom videos interact with site navigation, live actors are integrated into well-crafted 2d animations, and custom programming enable exciting functionality. Though the experience is one that is new to many, the DDA team never loses site of ease of use and functionality.

A project I am currently overseeing is an excellent example of our team’s expertise in pushing the boundaries while achieving an intuitive and easy to use website. Video elements, custom database and admin programming, and innovative designs meld together to create a site that can only be defined as groundbreaking, however the core philosophy centers on the users’ ability to navigate and utilize the site with ease.

The ‘Write’ Variation

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

When you work as a writer or copywriter professionally, especially in the marketing or advertising field, you not only need to have the ability to write on a variety of topics, you also have to have the desire.

At DDA, we have clients that vary dramatically, not only within the main categories of our company, Medical, Corporate, Video, and Corporate and Medical Training (CMT), but in industry, from home improvement, consulting, and human resources, to medical device manufacturers and pharmaceuticals companies.

For my fellow writers and myself, this means the need to immediately change topics and perspective — writing to varying audiences from prospective clients or employees, to patients, to other professionals in the industry — sometimes several times within one day.

Because of our ability to do this continuously and well, we can offer copywriting services, online, or for print media, beyond what other advertising or marketing agencies can. Additionally, our training in writing for search engine optimization (SEO), offers any business, whether Medical or Corporate, an extra edge, as we can put them at the top of search engines, while writing clean, professional, and engaging copy.

Whatever the day brings, regardless of the topic or field, the writers at DDA are prepared to handle it.
