Wait, What did I Come in Here for?

I used to have a sharp memory. Now, I move from the living room to the kitchen and suddenly forget why. Maybe, I am just getting old, or maybe there’s just a lot to remember. I choose the latter, please.

At work, I do not take kindly to forgetting, which is why I fancy the homemade lists, which I tape to my monitor, desk, wherever there is available room,  reminding me that a proposal for a DVD is due that afternoon, or that I need to finish a script draft or an outline for a brochure.

OK, before I go any further, I just want to say it’s not that bad. For me, it’s more of the fear of forgetting that keeps me constantly pinching myself.  Like everyone else at DDA, I juggle a lot of balls and dropping one is not something I’m fond of.

Luckily, I have plenty of backup here. Our system is so streamlined for all of our projects from programming to print production to design that forgetting really isn’t an option.

Everyone assigned to a particular project is hands-on and actively involved, so it’s like having a built-in safety net for any of those balls that might just slip by.

DDA Video: Well Oiled Machine

Yesterday was quite a busy day down here at DDA Video.  A client had a last minute request for 3 different DVDs, 2 of which we received the footage for that morning.  Laurence and I scrambled around the office to have the DVDs prepared with enough time to set up for the shoot later that day.  Everything went smoothly as we got the DVDs to the client and then proceeded to shoot 5 different spokesperson videos with product demonstrations.  After the shoot we packed the studio up and prepared for a shoot in New York which is taking place today.

Laurence and Andrew are in New York today which gives me the opportunity to take a breather and process some of the footage from yesterday’s shoot.  Hopefully I can get through the bulk of it since I’m sure that I will be greeted with even more footage on Monday!

A Partner through the Clear and Not So Clear

Some projects are clear cut, others are not.

As a full-service company, we see a lot of versatility in the work we do — video production, animation, website development, illustration, brochures, catalogs. I could go on but I think my point is clear.

There’s one constant variable throughout it all — the client steers the project. Our ability to provide any service needed, from programming to copywriting services, means that we can go in any direction a client wants.

If they call about a website and through discussion decide a video would also be appropriate, we can do it.  If they want to add a certification or training component to a CD-ROM, we can do it. Tracking usage, logo design, tradeshow banner, video script — we can do all of that too.

A prime example of our ability to meet just about any need, is a client we are currently working with on a variety of projects. They began wanting marketing and branding, and from there it’s mushroomed. We have gone from logo design to video to website development and back to video again. This client’s business is growing rapidly and as his needs and focus shift, we shift with him, providing exactly what is needed to meet his vision.

Not all projects are like this. Some are straight forward.

But regardless of the size or scope, through our vast ability and focus on customization we are establishing relationships, not just providing services.

Whether it’s a DVD or a little bit of everything, our clients are getting a partner not just a vendor.
