Who Put the DDA Signal Up?

It never fails. When it comes to my existing clients, they always travel in packs.

Through the summer months, my ongoing projects slowly drifted by. A fix here, an addition there, a few weeks between responses. No biggie. It happens, especially during the vacation seasons.

But this week, it was like someone shone the DDA signal in the sky, and all of those projects that were getting there slowly but surely, have suddenly taken off at amazing speed.

This week, we got the push for a clinical study project, which includes logo design, brochure design, content development, and trade ads, as well as illustrations, an interactive CD-ROM that includes animation and live video, a website development and design project, which also includes live video and a lot of interactive components, then there is a sell sheet, and a new trade ad. Did I mention all are on tight deadlines?

But even though it’s been a bit hectic, it’s not a problem. At DDA, we move at the pace of our clients, and as soon as we receive feedback or revisions, we get to work right away.

Of course, it may mean that the videographers, illustrators, animators, website developers, and graphic designers, will try to duck and cover when I walk by in the next few days, but it will all get done on time and look great.

I just hope next time whoever put that signal in the sky, gives me a little warning.

Deadlines

Everyone has deadlines to meet, whether it be personal or business. At DDA, we are a mixed bunch. Some work diligently and pace themselves in order to have the task completed on time. Others have limited time left before beginning a task and speedily complete their work. Regardless, if you are a designer, programmer, copywriter, videographer, photographer, or SEM Specialist, you have deadlines to meet. While neither of these practices is right or wrong, you have to think which approach would benefit you more on a case by case basis.

To retain clientèle, one must prove that they are worthy of their time. Meeting expectations and deadlines is one key way to do so. At DDA, we pride ourselves on the fact that we will do all that we can to meet each and every deadline regardless of the time given. If the requests are too tight, we will let the client know. We will never take on a project that we cannot complete on time. That is just not fair to the client.

New Posters

Just yesterday, I stepped out into the main area of DDA and noticed something new. All of the new posters that our designers made have been printed and arrived here. I’m not even sure whether I should call them signs or posters. They look like posters, but the have a thickness to them and are stiff. Either way, they are here.

There is one for every DDA department we have, from our graphic design department to our programming department to our video department. Everyone is represented. Not only our departments have posters though. There is a poster for all of our DDA websites, like DDA Medical, DDA Apps, DDA USA, and the new home for our award-winning Search Engine Marketing services, DDA SEM.

I must say, it feels a little bit like walking through an art gallery with all of the large colorful posters now displayed on easels and on the walls. It’s not too much of a stretch though, since they really are works of art and checking them out as you walk by is a pleasure. It’s no wonder why our graphic designers are some of the best in the business.
