Updating My To-Do List

My planned quiet weekend was quiet — for the most part. Aside from an entertaining Saturday night in Center City for a friend’s bachelor party, I got a lot done around the house that I’ve been putting off for weeks (and months). I cut back patches of grass and weeds in my backyard that were high enough to swallow the dog, cleaned the deck, and cleaned most of the house from top to bottom. With Andrea working insanely long hours in recent weeks, and me still getting used to my new hours at DDA, a lot of things have gone undone. So as I sat down to watch the Phillies game Sunday night, it was nice to do it without a long list of to-dos hanging over my head. It was also nice just to sit down, considering how sore I am today from weedwacking, mowing, pulling weeds, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, and scrubbing.

But, as usual, there were plenty of things I wanted to do that didn’t get done. So, since it lives in online infamy forever, this blog entry will serve as my to-do list of all that I DIDN’T get done.

  • Fix the two doorknobs that are about to fall off.
  • Build shelves to hide the ugly hole where the TV used to be (the new TV hangs on the wall).
  • Major basement-cleanup and reorganization project.
  • Guest room reorganization (i.e. find a place for the extra bed now sitting on the floor).
  • Paint/stucco/railing replacement on the front porch.
  • Figure out something to fix the half-grass half-dirt thing going on in the backyard.

I’m sure there are plenty more, but that’ll have to do for now. And with the next few weekends and weeks booked solid, the list may have to wait until September.

My to-do list at DDA is not as long as that, at least right now. But I know that will change. We just finished a few big internal projects, which should launch today — DDA APPS (online applications) and DDA SEM (search engine marketing) (be sure to check them out!) — and Toni is back from vacation, so my task list is a little lighter today. But that doesn’t mean I’m bored. I have plenty of search engine optimized content to write for a client that should keep me busy for the rest of the week. And with a week’s vacation on the horizon, I have plenty of motivation to stay busy. Just like the rest of the copywriters, animators, video artists, programmers, graphic designers, and SEO specialists here at DDA, I am always tackling my to-do list. And because of the wide array of capabilites we have here at DDA, that to-do list is always changing.
