Responsibilities Doubled
DDA practices a 4-day work week where we all work 10-hour days. I have come to accept that I will not get home until 6:30 p.m. and that I am usually in bed by 10 p.m., which leaves me with 3 1/2 hours to do whatever it is that I need to get accomplished at home.
This week my days feel like they have been extended. I am awoken at 6 a.m. by the construction next door. It has been about 2 months since they were last there to work on building the house. Once I leave DDA at 6:00 p.m., I head to my fiancee’s parent’s home to bring in their mail, water the plants, and tend to their cat, Socks.
Once my chores are finished, I head to my fiancee’s brother’s apartment to bring in their mail and tend to their cats, Matrix and Taz.
Then I am off to my parent’s house to bring in their mail, water the plants, and tend to their cats, Skittles and Dante.
From there, I head to my grandmother’s apartment to assure that she has taken her medications, eaten dinner, and that her air conditioner is on. After that I have one last stop, my aunt’s house to feed her dog, Spice.
So I am lucky if I am home by 8:30 p.m., where I am greeted by my kitten Tinky who looks rather upset that I am so late to feed her. Who ever thought that so many different families would go on vacation all at one time.
After a day of working on website buildout, pay per click campaigns, and running ranking reports it feels good to get outside and enjoy the nice weather.
