Caffeinate Me
I am a night person and waking up at 6:30 a.m. for work really wears on me as the week progresses. I have trouble going to bed any earlier than 11:00 p.m. during the work week. It may be close to 8 hours of sleep, which is what the designated sleeping amount is said to be, but I disagree. I’ve always thought that I needed 10 hours of sleep to feel rested. If you don’t believe me, just try watching me during the three-day weekend. Friday morning I am right back to waking up at noon and then will stay up until 2 a.m. for the weekend nights. I love this and it feels so good to sleep. Then it’s trouble again come Monday morning with a roughly 6-hour waking up time shift. This often makes me feel sick to my stomach and sometimes results in a morning cookie tossing. Morning is the devil.
Luckily at DDA, I can hit the tea hard so that the caffeine coursing through my veins can keep my eyes open and my mind alert (I would drink coffee, but I find it icky). This lets me concentrate on whatever I’m working on whether it is a custom programming application, a 2D Flash animation, a 3D modeling project, adding a web design to an HTML page, or whatever else. Caffeine lets me feel like maybe I did get 10 hours of sleep. There are many times that I do end up blaming the caffeine for not being able to fall asleep though. That’s when I give decaf a try. There is such a thing as too much caffeine and I am now aware.
