Honest Work For Honest Pay
A few weeks ago I read a story on AP about NY City public school teachers (seven hundred in all) who cannot teach because of a myriad of accusations against them ranging from insubordination to sexual misconduct. Why are they simply not fired, you ask? Well, their union contract makes it almost impossible to fire them. So, they sit around and play games or practice yoga or surf the internet in off campus rooms while they wait for their disciplinary hearings. They are also drawing their full salaries. This process can take several months. Is this NOT THE MOST ABSURD situation you can imagine? According to the NY Department of Education THE ESTIMATED COST TO TAXPAYERS IS $65 MILLION A YEAR.
Segue to all the honest, hard working Americans who are trying to stay afloat in this economic downturn. Granted, there are those among us who have overspent and lived too lavish a lifestyle for the income they have. But for those of us who have always tried to be good stewards of our money, that story boggles the mind.
Unfortunately life deals both good hands and bad hands and we each have to learn responsibility and patience and perseverance. In a business culture like DDA’s it helps when we recognize how dependent we are on one another. Our teams are good at what they do because we do not leave anything to chance. At the end of the day, we never have to make excuses for our work, the custom websites we build for clients are proof of quality work, as is the constant expansion of creativity in content development, graphic design, videography, marketing and branding.
Again, I say to new clients, check DDA out before you decide which advertising agency to choose for your new projects.
