The Key To Increased Efficiency

There is a Chinese restaurant downtown Philly that I particularly like because of the way the servers conduct themselves.  They have more than one dining room, but we always ask to sit in the main area so I can watch the staff. No one talks much. The person that takes your order for drinks and food is not necessarily the one that brings either the drinks or the food to your table, so by the time your meal is over, your table may be served by five people. How they do it without talking to each other baffles and fascinates me. They do not make mistakes. The bill is always right.  I would love to interview the owner (a woman who is always there by the way) and ask what her process is. It is like watching a silent play.

We have a process too at DDA and we work constantly to improve it. Since we offer clients so many services collaboration among the different departments is key to increased efficiency. But unlike the Chinese restaurant, we rely on emails and internal meetings and client/project coordinator meetings to avoid anything falling through the cracks. We also rely on a tracking system so we can account for all the time spent, be it on the phone or doing research or proofing a final project.

So when clients come to us for small or big projects they can rest assured that the DDA teams will oversee their project through the DDA TRAC, from start to finish, complete with time lines and milestones and adjustments to both where needed. Ours is a great model, and right now our programmers are working to make it even better.

When we launch, there will be a champagne break in our main room on the first floor. One glass per person. We still have to drive home!
