What Do You Take For Granted?
What do you take for granted? Among other things, the following would be important to me: hot and cold running water, grocery stores and drugstores with extended hours, easily available organic produce, telephones that work, and probably most of all no computer problems. That can be a tall order, but basically it means after you boot up, you can read all your email, you can search for any information through Google, you can keep a whole bunch of tabs open and not cause a problem, you can write in your blog, check if important packages got to their destination, work with the bank that handles your business account online, etc. All as fast as you can read, type and move a mouse.
Well today, we had an unusual glitch. It had our programmers scurrying, a few clients asking why they were getting errors, our server people trying to help, all this requiring several hours of hit and miss to find the problem, but finally an email from our senior programmer announcing success. It will probably never happen again, because as Mick said, “It was an odd problem.”
So it crimped our style for part of the day, but we could work. Amazing what you take for granted! If I were to ask our clients, what they take for granted, I’m sure they would come up with the following: getting their SEO reports on time (for those in DDA’s SureThing Search Engine Program, sell sheets and brochures delivered on schedule, websites with working links, working forms, working video, quick response when they request a quote for a new project, timely answers on Friday since we work a four day week. And at DDA, all our clients can take our A-1 service and response for granted.
We are good and striving to be even better. So calling all marketing managers, looking for a new vendor to create your new elearning tool or step you up technologically into the 21st century, check us out. We could play a huge role in improving your bottom line. And, just for the record, we do not take our clients for granted!
