Window Shopping
So you have your nose pressed up against a store window wishing Santa will bring you that doll or huge red fire truck. Yes, it is that time of the year when wishing is part of the countdown to Christmas.
Surely business people are doing the same thing, surfing the internet and looking at competitors websites to see how their own compares. I know this happens because every week or two we get a RFP with such a request. The letdown is when they add “…we want to keep the look and feel of what we have now, just add a few bells and whistles.”
Our business development team then has to do a dance between letting said prospect know their site is UGLY and does not function, and/or thinking, is this a company we can really do something for. Unfortunately, 99.9 % of the time, it is a lost cause. After a decade of businesses coming to DDA to build their corporate website, I still marvel at how few soon-to-be clients understand even the basics of what constitutes a good website.
If prospects are open minded and allow our business development team the opportunity, they will come away from conference calls and meetings understanding why we create the kind of product that will benefit their business for years to come. Problem is too many people out there think they are experts.
I say, when you have a toothache, you go to the dentist. When something is wrong with your car you take it to a mechanic. So why not ask the website experts at DDA to work their magic on your new website? Our programmers will create a shopping cart that makes your daily life easier because the forms are easy to use. Our SEO specialists will attend to your site diligently and make sure your keywords will rank high in the search engines. And when it comes to design, you will get custom work from our graphic designers.
So to all business owners surf the internet, and after you are done window shopping, check out our portfolios. I know you at least owe yourself that email asking DDA to quote on your project. Does not have to be a website. Can be a medical video or webcast, can be graphics for a tradeshow in the Spring of ‘10, or it can be marketing a new product.
We do it all!
