Advanced Technology with Real Value
My personal computer is slowly but surely kicking the bucket. It still works when it wants to and every once in a while, I get the infamous blue screen of death. During each use, I’m forced to restart at least one time. So, with my birthday coming up, I’ve been looking into my options. This time, I’d like a laptop, but I don’t need all the bells and whistles because my use is pretty much limited to “window shopping”, paying bills, and checking emails.
Recently, I’ve seen commercials on TV for the mini HP by way of a Verizon network package. At first I thought, “Great! A laptop with all that I need at a low cost and since I’m already a Verizon customer, I’d just need to increase my monthly fee by a few bucks.” Well, it turns out that it’s about $40. more a month and you can get the same mini laptop directly from HP with wireless Internet and no monthly charge. When considering my needs and comparing both deals, the latter of which is the better buy. For me, technology just for the sake of technology does not always warrant value and it’s up to us as consumers to make the right buy and keep astronomical costs at bay.
On my desk, I have a quote by Gregory Benford that reads, “Any technology not distinguishable from magic is not sufficiently advanced.” I’ve had it posted for years and in that time, I’ve seen us at DDA produce remarkable online tools that have REAL value for businesses of all kinds. We can build anything from Patient Portals that improve patient-to-physician communication by allowing patients to request an appointment or prescription and much more to eLearning tools that enable trainees to learn new processes or procedures in an interactive, innovative way while administrators can keep track of their success. Our programmers, animators, and web developers have the capability to produce any one of today’s hottest online trends in business, but not everything has value and not everything is suitable to your unique needs. Contact us and we’ll lend our expertise to implement the technology that adds to the bottom-line of your business.
