Phil’s Forecast for 2010
Yesterday was Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, indicating six more weeks of winter. However, it was reported that most local groundhogs did not see their shadows and predictions say this year’s winter will be relatively short. Do you side with predictions from the lone, yet most well-known groundhog, or are you persuaded to think that sun bathing is just around the corner because the crowd speaks otherwise? Personally, I could care less about predictions or forecasts on our climate from an animal that quite frankly freaks me out when I get within arm’s distance of the thing. When I woke up this morning to see a soft coating of snow on the ground, I couldn’t help but smile at the sight. I enjoy living in Bucks County, PA and bearing witness each year to a seasonal change that serves as a feast to the eyes. I make this statement in association with the following disclaimer - by March (if I see any more snow, I think I’ll go mad!) I’m ready for Spring renewal.
