Riding the Roller Coaster Together
Through recent experiences, I’m learning that even the strongest of relationships can be tested at times. Today, while producing search engine optimization copywriting for a new medical website design project and seeking information for reference, I came across a press release in which one of our clients was quoted in commenting on the “roller-coaster of being in business”. He was referring to the internal process he had to go through with inventors and sponsors in bringing a product to market. He stated that “The relationship developed by working together to discover common goals, values, trust, strengths, and weaknesses and being willing to frankly address these with one and another.” and went on to say, “Then we collaborated on a couple of efforts that were unsuccessful, that really tested our mutual determination and capabilities…” His words hold true in this instance and in the project management responsibilities we at DDA are responsible for every day.
We strive to help our clients see us more than a vendor, but a partner for all of their advertising and marketing needs from one project to the next for the life of their business. As a result, we’ve been successful in establishing a long list of long-term clients that return again and again. That said, maintaining a good working relationship over the course of projects ranging from trade show graphics and brochures to website designs and digital catalog cd-roms takes a constant commitment to the shared end goal - whether that is promotion or information dissemination. Along the way, there may be bumps in the road (i.e. perhaps the client isn’t familiar with standard industry procedure and needs explanation or maybe the client doesn’t understand the full range of our growing capabilities and what they see as a stressor is in actuality an easy fix, etc.). The bottom-line is that we’re in this with you, your success is our success and with mutual understanding and determination we’ll ride the business roller coaster together.
