Narrow the Customer Base with Search Engine Marketing
Well, I am not going to tell you the economy is bad right now. You know that. We all know that.
What I will say is that as companies and businesses start consider new and creative ways to market to a tight customer base, what they need to do is find those consumers who are looking for their services. It’s no longer about broad marketing, but getting to those niche audiences who want to be found.
Organic search marketing, when done right, is an effective way to pull in consumers who are searching for specific products and services. At DDA, one of our core competencies is search engine marketing (SEM); you could consider us winners in this field. Our SEM efforts differ dramatically from other companies. Typically, search engine optimization (SEO) and web development and design are handled separately. A web development company would not do SEO work, and an SEO company would not do web development work. DDA realized early on that in order to be successful in SEO, then the two would need to go hand-in-hand, which is why we build all of our websites on a search-engine optimization platform, even if the client does not want to explore additional optimization efforts from the start. It’s kind of like medical insurance; you may not need it immediately, but you want to make sure you have it for when you do.
We also do research into thousands of keyword search terms related specifically to company’s industry and services offered. These are terms that real-life consumers are using to find the companies and services they need. By narrowing in on these specific searches — rather than broad search terms that could apply to the masses — we are essentially narrowing in on the consumer who will be most likely become a customer or client. The more exact a company is in the keyword search terms it is targeting, the more likely for a conversion or sale.
So, while things are bleak at the moment, there are still consumers out there looking for goods and services. The key is to find them, and to not waste time and money on reaching out to a much broader market that will pass on by. DDA can help make this happen.
