Writing the Day Away

I apologize to my co-workers in advance if I groan as I stand up and sit down today, or block their path by walking extra slowly through the DDA halls. As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog, last night I re-started my effort to run and get in shape. And I’m paying for it this morning. Hopefully if I stick with it, the soreness will fade and I’ll feel like I’m in a little bit better shape.

Fortunately, there hasn’t been much hustling around today (not that I could hustle anywhere in my current state). As a project coordinator and copywriter here at DDA, every day is different. Some days are spent juggling a few projects, coordinating multiple clients, and sitting in on conference calls and meetings. Those days, not much writing gets done. But today has been relatively quiet on that front, which has allowed me to focus on a few writing projects on my plate. Mainly, I’ve been working on some search engine optimized content for a new branch site for one of our biggest clients. With so many pages to be created, and a relatively short time-frame to do it, the content is coming out fast and furious, with another batch of pages hopefully headed to the client for review tomorrow.

Since that content is very similar from page to page, it can get a little monotonous, so it helps to take a break every so often. So that’s where I plan out some time to work on a different writing project, send a few reminder emails, or write my blog. Everyone here at DDA works in their own unique way, and finds the strategy that works best for them. From programmers and copywriters, to videographers, animators, graphic designers, and SEO specialists, the gentle hum of productivity permeates the office.

For me, it’s time to get back to writing. I have a few more pages on my to-do list for today! Then, it’s home for a relaxing night on the couch to give these sore muscles a rest.
