DDA Glossary 3D Animation3D animation refers to the creation of moving
images in a three-dimension virtual environment. Like 2D animation,
animation artists sequence consecutive images, or “frames”
showing one image after the next in a gradual progression of steps.
But unlike 2D animation, the artist will film this process with a virtual
camera and then output it to video by a rendering mechanism. In 3D animation,
objects are modeled in an internal 3D representation within the computer,
and are then 'lit' and 'shot' from chosen angles, just as in real life,
before being 'rendered' to a 2D bitmapped frame. |
