3D Modeling

3D modeling refers to the ability to create three-dimensional images. Generally, the art of 3D modeling is similar to sculpting or photography in that it prepares geometric data and manipulates this data to develop an image that is true to life. 3D primitive objects such as cubes, spheres, or cones serve as the fundamental building blocks for modeling. From here, more sophisticated images develop by extruding or rotating such objects around their center point.

3D modeling is a great way to bring concrete form and structure to innovative abstract concepts or ideas. For today’s product developers, 3D modeling has become an essential tool to get products to market before the competition. During the development phase, designers and engineers can work closely in refining the product specifications by viewing and sharing information based on a common 3D model.
