CPM (Cost Per Thousand)

The CPM is a variation of Pay Per Click Advertising in which ad views are sold in blocks of 1000. An advertisers agrees to pay a certain amount for every one thousand clicks on a link leading to their site. This method of payment is most convenient when dealing with online banner and pop-up ads.

The M comes from mille, the Latin translation for thousand.
