Extranet System

An Extranet system functions in the same way that an Intranet website does except that it is open to a larger network of people. Extranet systems have the power to link people from collaborative organizations by providing powerful communication tools such as File Transfer Protocols (FTPs), document libraries, and technical support forums. The Extranet system is most often owned by one organization; control over who can enter and use the Extranet’s tools resides with that organization’s administrative group.
