Hidden Text

Hidden text is also known as “invisible text” or “fake text” and it is text that is visible to search engine spiders or crawlers but not visible to search engine users visiting the website. Most times hidden text is a form of spam, illegitimately delivering traffic to a website, but a very few instances use hidden text as a legitimate way to drive traffic to an advertiser’s website.
