Link Farms

A link farm, also known as a bad neighborhood, is a group of webpages that all hyperlink to one another. The goal is to enhance their ranking in the major search engines by increasing their link popularity rating. These can be created by hand or through automated programs.

Many search engines have technology that will recognize link farms. Link Farms violate the guidelines established by search engines and a search engine will delist a website if a link farm is detected.
