Stroke Simulation
Stroke is a cardiovascular disease that affects the arteries leading to and within the brain. A stroke simulation can be used as a learning tool for the general public to explain what a stroke is and how to respond if you see someone having one. For healthcare professionals, a stroke simulation can be used for training to promote the early recognition of symptoms and identify appropriate initial treatment of stroke patients. When three-dimensional (3D) virtual simulation technology is applied to explain the epidemiology of a stroke, users gain a better understanding of the disease, how to prevent it, and/or how to improve patient outcomes.
DDA Medical stroke simulations can serve as clinical curriculum or to educate patients and create greater awareness of the disease. Our healthcare simulation tools are designed using 3D animation, virtual reality technology, video, and imagery, and can be formatted for online access or developed on CD-ROM/DVD for distribution. While some of the simulations we produce are done for presentation purposes, others actively engage users by asking them to participate through a number of interactive controls.
