Terumo Trucise Total System Medical Training Tool
Terumo Corporation is the manufacturer of Trucise Total System, a medical device which adds process control and data management to their sterile tubing welder system in the blood bank and transfusion industries. In 2009, Terumo approached DDA Medical to establish a superior training program for their newly launched device through the development of a CD-ROM. Getting the sense that a more immersive and interactive training solution was in order, DDA designed an innovative virtual medical platform.
DDA Medical created a graphical user interface (GUI) and menu structure for linear or self-navigated course control. DDA's medical copywriters constructed a script that summarized the machine's purpose and common functionalities. Supporting the text is voiceover narration and pseudo flash animations that provide trainees with valuable visual cues. In addition to these interactive training tools, the program features a resource library, FAQs, a 360° product video, and troubleshoot center. The programmers of DDA Medical also integrated a flash quiz to affirm trainee comprehension and provide users with immediate certification.
DDA programmed extensive reporting capabilities and tracking tools to monitor the level of course completion and certification. As the primary users of this device are held to an exacting standard of machine compliance, DDA Medical's eLearning program provides the guidance needed to ensure proper device use. Through a clear and comprehensive design, DDA provided the virtual medical solution to Terumo's training needs.
