| Collaborating
with the Population Council
The Copper T Model Tcu 380A is the result of collaboration
between the Population Council, a not-for-profit medical
research organization, and FEI — who have partnered
to bring innovative contraceptives to women since
the 1960s. The Population Council was granted FDA
approval of a New Drug Application (NDA) for the Copper
T in 1984. In January 2003, FEI acquired the NDA for
the Copper T from the Council. This acquisition awarded
FEI the exclusive U.S. marketing and distribution
rights for the product starting in 2004.
