Snow in Video Production - Dynamic Digital Advertising

Snow

Snow is a colloquial name for interference in the video signal which results in a dusty image quality and manifests as random colored or black and white dots. Snow is commonly referred to as luminance noise or white noise. Understanding what causes white noise helps to define snow. Causes typically include one of the following: low signal level from poor lighting conditions; poor video signal processing; dirt on the video recorder heads which interferes with reading and writing; low quality videotapes; exceptionally long video cables used without pre-compensation; or over-enhancement of the video signal.

As a video production company, Dynamic Digital Advertising (DDA) is able to ensure high production-value quality for Medical, Corporate, and Industrial Videos by knowing what the effects are of white noise, how to avoid it, and, if it should occur, how to eliminate it in postproduction services, such as video editing. We know that snow can ruin the viewing experience so we make every effort to avoid the causes of snow during filming. As a full-service advertising agency, DDA is able to conceptualize, create, and develop anything imaginable from direct mail post cards and brochures to interactive websites and Intranets. If you’re not completely convinced that a video is right for your company, contact us and we’ll work with you to produce a marketing tool that helps to improve your business in ways you never thought possible.
