An Extra 3,600 Seconds

My Monday morning consisted of packing lunches, bathing suits, towels, change of clothes and water shoes and of course the all-time dreaded task… applying sunblock to three wiggling, giggling kids. Ah, the first day of summer camp. While listening to my daughter playing Ode to Joy on her recorder (at 7:30 a.m., mind you), it suddenly hit me. Today starts my summer hours at DDA, a search engine marketing company.

While the term “summer hours” usually refers to getting out early, my summer hours include an extra hour each day. That means that I have an extra 3,600 seconds each day to optimize websites that are enrolled in our SureThing Optimization Program. Each week I will have an additional 14,400 seconds to complete the tasks that I am used to doing in less time.

From medical websites to injection molding websites that DDA has designed, this Search Engine Optimization Specialist’s summer days will be full of meta tag optimization, implementing keywords into alternate text, perusing website traffic reports and search engine ranking reports.

Lets just hope that I realize that at 3:15 p.m. I should not shutdown my computer and leave for the day. Rather I should start the countdown from 3,600, 3,599, 3,598…
