Although Cuil sounds like a bad fantasy film from the 80s, it is, in fact, a new search engine that launched yesterday. Its big selling point is that it has an index of 120 billion web pages. It bills itself as the worlds biggest search engine, three times the size of Google and ten times that of Microsoft.

I tested it out with the keyword phrase “search engine optimization philadelphia”

We came up on the top left, which I am presuming is the top spot. An odd thing is the explore by category box to the right, it did pick up some relevant terms, but also wildly wrong ones. Using this side bar, Cuil seems to think Philadelphia is a town in New York.

I do like the self population search feature where it guesses what it is your looking for as you type. This was faster then a lot of similar ones of these and also very accurate.
