Google / Twitter Partnership
The Google agreement now allows them to include real-time tweets in Google’s search results. The official line from Google came through Marissa Mayer, Vice President of Search Products and User Experience.
“We believe that our search results and user experience will greatly benefit from the inclusion of this up-to-the-minute data, and we look forward to having a product that showcases how tweets can make search better in the coming months. That way, the next time you search for something that can be aided by a real-time observation, say, snow conditions at your favorite ski resort, you’ll find tweets from other users who are there and sharing the latest and greatest information.”
This is big news, although right now nobody knows exactly how this will be implemented. Google has already acted on this and launched Google Social Search into Google Labs. But this is just a teaser; we will all wait and see how Google will integrate the twitter results into its main engine. The big question here at Dynamic Digital Advertising is how this will impact SEO. It’s an exciting time and we are ready to forge headlong into this new frontier
