Organic SEO basically refers to achieving ranking in unpaid algorithm-driven results of a search engine. In other words, ranking in the ‘Natural’ returns and not the ‘Artificial’ paid listings. Hence Organic listings and therefore Organic SEO, but here at DDA we like to take this one step further. We believe this is a term for how you optimize your website without using any underhanded methods.
You may have heard the terms ‘Black Hat’ SEO and ‘White Hat’ SEO. Well Black Hats use a variety of technically driven solutions to try to trick and manipulate search engine rankings, often violating a search engine’s terms of service. Whereas a White Hat does not try to trick a search engine, but instead helps the search engines and the users see the content that is there, and not hide anything. We believe the only long term solution to ranking well is to make your site a valuable resource that users want to go to. Otherwise you’re forever chasing the latest algorithm and twisting your site to it in a very ‘artificial’ way.
The organic way of optimizing even helps you with problem of acquiring links– if you have good, well-written, informative content, people will naturally link to you. This is in stark contrast to the the artificial way of reciprocal linking schemes, link farms, and paid links used by the Black Hat SEO firms. So in closing, do your own research, but if you’re not a “here today, gone tomorrow” company, and you care about the longterm health of your site, we believe you’ll come to the same conclusion that we have: the only way to go is Organic SEO.
