Press #1 for …Completely Frustrated Customer!
Since making the move back to my parent’s house, I transferred my television and Internet service from my old house to my “new” house. While they are still using DSL and TVs that are not in hi-definition, I needed to hang up my LCD TVs and plug in the hi-def boxes.
So I called up the company that shall remain nameless… their TVservice is a four letter word that starts with an F and ends in I OS , set up the installation appointment and was happy that in a few days my service would be installed. I received the confirmation phone call and when Friday, Aug 1st rolled around I found myself checking the driveway every five minutes between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. No one showed up. I called the company 4 times between 12 and 4 p.m., and spent what felt like a lifetime on hold, just to be told that they were going to have to reschedule my installation for another day. So, I rescheduled my installation and hung up the phone ready to spit fire at the next person who talked to me! I was stuck in that house with three bored kids all day and it was all for nothing!
So yesterday I met the installers, let them roam all through the house and almost 5 hours later, only half of my televisions are working! Once again onto the phone and talking through the automated prompts, choosing 1, 2, or 3 then having to explain my situation all over again each time. Finally, I got the good news that my expected wait time was 7 minutes, much better than when my fiance called and his wait time was 45 minutes. As the minutes ticked away on the clock, I was getting excited thinking that everything would be set up for the kid’s morning viewing of cartoons. Then suddenly the line was disconnected. I gave up and threw the phone down and vowed to deal with it the next day.
It is this type of annoyance that makes me happy to work at a search engine marketing company like DDA. There are no automated voice prompts, an actual human being answers the phones (sometimes myself) and directs your call. We do not put you on hold for what can seem like a lifetime, when you are calling about website design, website optimization or any of our other digital services. When we schedule a meeting, we do not keep our clients waiting or cancel without notice.
I can’t wait until all of my televisions are working and I can call and push #4 and give them a piece of my mind!
